March 7-8: Israel Apartheid Week Grassroots Advocacy Training & Lobby Day
The Interfaith Peace Builders will be holding trainings and workshops on the 7th to prepare activists for a round of Congressional lobbying the next day on behalf of Palestinian people living under the Israeli occupation. More info. (http://www.ifpb.org/education/grassroots/2010/schedule.html)

March 10-13: Split This Rock Poetry Festival : Poems of Provocation and Witness
The festival will feature readings, workshops, panel discussions, youth programming, film, activism – opportunities to speak out for social justice, imagine a way forward, and celebrate the many ways that poetry can act as an agent for social change. March 13-20: Peace of the Action’s Camp OUT NOW
This group will be holding a tent city next to the National Monument for a week of trainings and speakers before beginning a series of civil disobedience protests on the 22nd. More info. (http://peaceoftheaction.org/)

March 18-20: “Birds in the Park” Art Project, National Mall on Thursday, Dupont Circle on Friday, Upper Senate Park on Sunday

A touring art project featuring porcelain birds marked with prose, poetry, and images evoking both the beautiful and destructive sides of humanity and encouraging passersby to read and reflect on the war on Iraq, war in general, and its effect on people. March 19: Funk the War: Bad Romance, 3pm at Farragut Square
DC Students for a democratic Society is hosting a massive student disco mutiny to disrupt the corporate-political war machine in the streets of DC, with preparatory trainings and education events at campuses around the city in the weeks before. March 19: Different Shades of Militarization: an Iraq Anniversary Forum  At 5th and K Busboys and Poets, 6-8 pm discussing the connections In honor of the 7th anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq, the same weekend as a huge immigrant rights march in DC, come learn how militarization and the US military in particular affects oppressed populations.among militarization faced by Iraqis, immigrants in the US and impoverished populations in DC.  More info (http://www.washingtonpeacecenter.org/node/2757)

March 19-21: Proposition One: Thomas Memorial in Lafayette Park
A 3-Day Memorial Vigil and Anti-Nuclear Peace Demonstration, including rememberances, readings, rhythms, and reflections.

March 19: Lenten Witness for Peace @ White House 12pm – 1pm
Join the Dorothy Day Catholic Worker and others for a weekly vigil and witness against war, militarism, torture, and occupation and for the eradication of poverty and a just economic order.

March 19: Walter Reed Vigil at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7-9pm
Middle of the 7100 block of Georgia Avenue NW, between Elder and Dahlia Streets. Vigil for Care for the Wounded, Full Benefits for All Veterans, and Bringing All The Troops Home Now!

March 20: ANSWER March, Lafayette Park at noon

March 20: Women in Warzones, 7-8:00 pm

After the ANSWER march, see Eve Ensler and friends at Women in Warzones with excellent speakers and talent you won’t want to miss! Event will be at Busboys and Poets at 5th and K Streets NW from 8:00pm.  Organized by CODEPINK, co-sponsored by the Washington Peace Center and others.

March 21: Fair Immigration Reform March and Rally @ National Mall on 7th Street.  Interfaith Service at 1pm, Rally at 2pm, March at 5pm
