BROTHERS AND SISTERS INTERNATIONAL (BASI) is a progressive grassroots organization whose goal is building a U.S. based support network for workers and peasants to struggle to improve their quality of life through restructuring of their local economic system. BASI seeks to establish links with progressive farmers, crafts people, and small business owners to allow the marketing of their goods and products in the U.S. BASI also seeks to provide technical assistance to people in developing nations to enhance their production and expand their markets. BASI is currently developing projects in Haiti and the Bahamas.
