A consortium of health advocacy organizations, clergy, caregivers and community activists who seek to restore a public hospital in the Nation’s Capitol.  In spite of broad community support, D.C.
General Hospital closed in June 2001, shutting down the only public hospital in the Nation’s Capitol.  The Coalition recognizes the importance of a public hospital as an integral part of an effective health care delivery system and is working to restore and support this essential component.
