The D.C. Peace and Economic Justice Program seeks to educate, train and advocate on behalf of the D.C. area community in issues around peace building, economic justice and human rights. The D.C. Peace and Economic Justice Program would like to safeguard basic freedoms.  We strive to achieve universal commitment to the dignity and worth of each human person.  To do so we believe that we must start with young people and increase their knowledge and understanding of human rights through the Human Rights Learning Project.

Our goal is to ensure that the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will be understood and exercised by D.C. youths, providing them with the tools to identify and overcome cultural practices and beliefs that do not support human rights while also empowering them to engage policy-makers and community leaders in human rights learning.
