Imam Jamil Action Network (IJAN) is a newly-formed affiliation of friends and supporters of Imam Jalil Al-Amin (formerly known as H. Rap Brown), a legendary civil rights and human rights activist currently incarcerated for crimes which he has emphatically denied committing and for which we believe he is innocent. In fact, someone else has confessed to the shootings for which Imam Jamil was convicted! We view him as a political prisoner based on the well-documented Cointelpro harassment he has suffered through the years due to his fighting racism, social injustice and economic inequality in the United States. IJAN is dedicated to raising public awareness of his situation and to raising funds for his legal defense.
