We Are Family is an outreach and advocacy organization committed to meeting the needs of and defending the human rights of seniors in the North Capitol, Shaw, Park View and Columbia Heights neighborhoods of Washington DC. Utilizing a small staff to facilitate a grassroots, volunteer-driven model for service and justice work, We Are Family reaches out to and advocates for (and with) needy seniors. We seek to build bridges between needs and resources, with the aim of fostering just and caring community in our neighborhoods as part of a broader social transformation. We seek to serve without creating dependency; rather, we encourage organization and empowerment. Volunteers do most of our work. Please feel free to join us!
