Join us for a discussion on single-payer advocacy in Washington, Peurto Rico, and across the country with special guests Dr Eduardo Ibarra, President of the Puerto Rico College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr Sarah Huertas, PNHP Puerto Rico co-chair, and Nickolas Skala Past PNHP Senior Research Associate.

Dr Eduardo Ibarra  and Dr Sarah Huertas,  will speak about their experiences working for single payer in Puerto Rico and what the Puerto Rican physician community is asking President Obama for on their visit. The Puerto Rico College of Physicians and Surgeons strongly believes in a single payer solution to our health care crisis and is actively working for it. Fifty to one-hundred Puerto Rican physicians are expected to lobby in Washington, DC for single payer at the end of this month. They are planning a demonstration outside the White House June 30, 10am, and other activities.

Nicholas Skala is Past Senior Research Associate at PNHP, where he coordinated national media, legislative, and advoacy initiatives. He is Co-Founder and Director of Health Care for All Illinois , and regularly serves as a consultant on health care issues to state and federal legislators. Nick will speak about the importance of single-payer advocacy in our nation's current health reform debate and the strategies to help us achieve victory.
