Picnic for Peace

Frederick Friends Meeting (Quakers), Women in Black Frederick, The Peace Resource Center and Unity Church in Frederick are all co- sponsors of the 6th Annual Picnic For Peace to be held in Baker Park adjacent to Schifferstadt Museum on Saturday July 4th 2009, 12-4PM.  Please see the attached flier and send it to anyone else whom you feel might be interested.
 
Establishing sustainable peace, at all levels (inter-personal, community, national and international), will require us all to participate in the process and share our talents.  World events, and even our interactions with each other, are influenced by many factors:  economics, availability of resources, ethnic prejudice, past hostilities, religious prejudice, energy policies, environmental policies, to name just a few.  And there are all sorts of interconnections between all of these factors!  While peace, in theory, is easy (love and forgive), the "nuts and bolts" of peace are indeed complicated.
 
Please come to the Picnic and share your gifts with the group.  This is a forum started 5 years ago to facilitate this exchange of ideas and means.
 
Making peace is one of the most patriotic things we can do, don't you agree?  Hope you can join us!
