Conversation on the Right to Housing in DC

Date:
Wednesday, July 22, 2009 - 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Location :
DC

In the face of a foreclosure crisis and general economic turmoil, increasing demand for housing and shelter services, continued lack of equal access to housing, and ongoing inadequate attention to affordable housing creation in DC, we at the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless, together with our partners at the National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty, believe it is time for a campaign for the Right to Housing in the District of Columbia.  Please join us on July 22nd at our first meeting to shape the goals and strategies of the campaign.

We would like to invite you to a conversation about a comprehensive approach to the right to housing in DC:
Wednesday, July 22
noon-2pm
True Reformer Building, 1200 U St, NW
Marsh Conference Room
Lunch will be provided.

If you cannot make it in person, please consider designating another from your organization to attend, as the success of this effort depends on knowing our strengths and weaknesses right away.  Also, if you believe there are others who should be part of the conversation, please let us know.

Please RSVP by Friday July 10 to Amber Harding (amber@legalclinic.org) so we make sure we have enough food and seats at the table.  Please feel free to contact us with any further questions as well, and we look forward to seeing you on the 22nd!
