*film:The Power of Community:How Cuba Survived Peak Oil*
*Transition Takoma* is part of a growing worldwide movement to localize our
economies and create sustainable, resilient communities - a positive vision
and practical response to climate change, peak oil and economic instability.
*
“The Power of Community” *(53 mins) is the inspiring story of Cuba’s
creative and successful response to the collapse of the Soviet Union in
1990, when their imports of oil were cut by more than half – and food by 80
percent.

*Join us for a Potluck meal and conversation* about the film (which means
everyone contributes something to the table; please bring local foods to
support our economy/agriculture and your own reusable plates/utensils to
reduce waste if you are able.) Children are most welcome.

- What is your vision for a sustainable future?
- For our families, neighborhood, community, world?
