This workshop will involve talking about the principles (main ideas) of disability justice, what disability justice looks like, how racism and ableism (the belief that non-disabled people are better than disabled people) work together, and looking at ableism in our communities.

The Disability Justice framework & movement was created and is still led primarily by queer, disabled women of color and queer, disabled gender non-conforming activists of color. We encourage you to read a background of the Disability Justice framework from one of its creators, Patty Berne, at http://sinsinvalid.org/blog/disability-justice-a-working-draft-by-patty-berne Organizers will also be posting recommended reading in the week leading up to the event.

Notes on accessibility coming soon!
