Peaceable Assembly Campaign Vigil

Date:
Tuesday, January 19, 2010 - 8:00am - Tuesday, February 2, 2010 - 8:00am
Location :
DC

From January 19 to February 2, a vigil will be maintained at the White House. This vigil will include on-going nonviolent civil disobedience / civil resistance.

The Peaceable Assembly Campaign seeks an end to the wars and occupations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Israel - Palestine and the redirection of resources towards fulfilling the Common Good (jobs, education, health care, environment, etc.) both domestically and internationally.

The campaign seeks to draw the connection between ending militarism and the urgent necessity of developing truly renewable energy resources as well as a commitment to reducing the consumption of natural resources.

After February 2, work will continue in home Congressional Districts and States to achieve the objectives of the campaign. This will include legal lobbying as well as civil disobedience in the offices of Representatives and Senators.
