5:30 - 6:00 pm: tour our Children's Gallery of Black History. This year's theme, Rise Up! A Journey for Economic Empowerment Worldwide, celebrates those who pushed against the odds to attain financial sustainability.

6:00 - 7:30 pm: GALA - dinner, entertainment, and an awards ceremony to recognize three History-makers in our community:

* Vivian Buckingham will receive the Majora Carter Green Justice Award for efforts to include environmental justice in climate legislation at CERES

*Jonathan Stith will receive the Angela Davis Scholar Activist Award for his commitment to empower youth organizers with the Youth Education Alliance

* Antoine Williams will receive the Roberto Clemente Playing for the People Award in recognition of his work to mentor inner city students to pursue higher education, including through DC Dynasty Baseball

Tickets: $20/adult, $10/student, and $5/child. You can sponsor a table for $500 (8 seats, plus recognition on our program and during the event). Funds will be used to build a state-of-the-art green children's center on Georgia Ave.

Pure Light Seed will be performing.

There will be a silent auction with gifts from the Eatonville Restaurant, Bikram Yoga DC, Equal Exchange, & autographed Dave Zirin books.
