WHAT IS IT?
Training for Social Action Trainers (TSAT) is a workshop designed to give people the opportunity to develop a stronger sense of the training tools, approaches and choices that will work for them to be most powerful and useful in their trainer role.
WHY IS DCLAC DOING THIS?
We want our staff and students to be strong leaders and facilitators! This training will not only further develop these skills for our own professional development, but also for the development of the Coalition as a whole. We are excited to invite partnering organizations to join us!
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP?
Experienced and less-experienced facilitators, consultants and trainers...Activists and organizers wanting to use training more effectively in their work... Teachers, community leaders, consultants and youth leaders!!!
AS A PARTICIPANT, YOU WILL...
Gain greater awareness about yourself and your strengths as a facilitator;
Get a chance to take risks, experiment and refine skills in a safe and supportive environment;
Get the stimulation of fresh approaches and increased options;
Receive personal guidance from experienced trainers in a small group setting;
Learn new tools that are easily adapted, principles of workshop design, skills for working with diversity and a better understanding of how to use experiential education methods effectively.
WHAT TO EXPECT
These workshops are an opportunity for you to learn and engage with approaches to experiential education so come ready to be an active participant. We will create time for you to set goals and reflect on what you want to learn, but we find that trainers who want to maximize what they get out of the training come with some learning goals in mind.
