Mainstream media machines have mastered the technique of effective campaigning to get the message out there and make it stick.  No matter the size of your budget, there are many tools that can be applied to enhance the visibility of social justice movements through the art of propaganda.  This workshop will look at flier making and other ways to make your own media and get the message out there both on the ground and online."

If you can’t paint…Street Art bumps your campaign!

Participants will learn how to use available inexpensive technologies to
create and install street art that amplifies the message of grassroots
campaigns.  Using regular cameras, photocopy machines, paint and wheat
paste we will explore various techniques to easily design, cheaply print,
and quickly deploy street art.  The techniques mix cheap black and white
digital reproduction with painting and cutting by hand to create
captivating propaganda.

Case studies will include street art with Empower
DC’s Public Property Campaign, Keep Franklin Shelter Open Campaign, CASA de
Maryland, School of the America’s Watch, and Rainforest Action Network.
