African Continuum Theatre welcomes award-winning novelist, playwright, poet and journalist Pearl Cleage
Saturday, June 19th, 7:00pm~ African Continuum Theatre welcomes award-winning novelist, playwright, poet and journalist Pearl Cleage (Chain, Blues for Alabama Sky, What Looks Like Crazy on and Ordinary Day) for a special evening engagement. Featuring Your Blues Ain't Like Mine. Ms. Cleage will discuss the genesis of "blues," her process as a playwright, and the great transitional momemnt in American theatre that is moving through at this time in our nation's history. African Contiuum Theatre's newly created Off the Circuit Performance Ensemble will perfom a scene from Cleage's Blues for an Alabama Sky, which is scheduled for a full production during African Continuum Theatre's 2010-2011 season. Sisterspace and Books will be the official book seller for this event and will have Ms. Cleage's lastest novel, "Till You Hear From Me."
