Meet us at 14th and Constitution NW at 10:30 am on Saturday!  ONE NATION WORKING TOGETHER is a multi-racial, civil and human rights movement. Our mission is to reorder our nation’s priorities to invest in our most valuable resource – our people-- because we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve the American Dream – a secure job, a safe home, and a quality education.

March with us on 10.2.10 and demand the change we voted for.  The Washington Peace Center has endorsed this mobilization.

The DC Metro Social Forum is promoting a feeder march so there will be a space and presence devoted to DC at what will be one of the largest progressive rallies DC has seen in a while.

Please join us and show your District Pride to the thousands of others visiting our city in solidarity!

DC Social Forum Feeder and Peace Table March
Saturday, October 2, 2010
10:30 AM
14th and Constitution, NW

We will be marching to the rally together with the Peace Table, a coalition of more than 70 peace groups who are calling to fund jobs, not war, and bring the war money home to fund our local communities, such as DC. Before we head off and march together to the rally, we will have an opportunity to put the spotlight on local DC issues.

We still need volunteers!  Help distribute the peace message to the masses.  Sign up here on the Peace Table website.
All volunteers should check in at the UFPJ table in the ONWT literature table area. This is in Zone 6 North, and it is close to the corner of 17th St. and Constitution Ave., NW. There will be signs directing people to Zone 6 North/Event Tables.

  • we would like as many volunteers as possible to check in between 8:30 and 9 am
  • people coming later should also check in at this location
  • at the check in volunteers will get materials to distribute and a specific location to work in
  • if people are planning on going to the feeder march we also urge them to check in here to get materials to distribute there as well
  • volunteers who will be distributing materials at the Metro stops will NOT check in here but will instead go right to their assigned stops

We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve the American Dream — a secure job, a safe home, and a quality education — but banksters and corporate lobbyists have made off with trillions of public dollars while small businesses can’t get loans and cities are laying off teachers, police, and firefighters.

In this time of economic crisis, it is easy for fear-mongerers to pit groups against each other and to find convenient scapegoats for the problems that plague us.

ONE NATION seeks to transcend our superficial differences and bring us together in a common quest for equal opportunity and justice for all.
