Mixed Unity Hosts Their 2nd Annual Peace Walk in Montgomery County, MD to Encourage and Unite Community Members to Live Nonviolent Lifestyles (Silver Spring, Maryland)

Mixed Unity, a youth coalition whose mission is to promote peace and non-violence in Montgomery County, MD and the D.C Metropolitan area, is organizing their 2nd Annual Youth Peace Walk on Saturday, September 18th 11:00am-6:00 pm at Ellsworth Drive in Silver Spring, MD.

By attending the Peace Walk, participants will hear motivational speeches by peacemakers and peace advocates in their community and march to raise awareness of the need for non-violence in their community.

The walk will foster a greater sense of community among youth and youth advocates; promote community empowerment; engage community members in Mixed Unity efforts to promote peace and non-violence via the implementation of youth violence prevention efforts at the individual and community level.

The starting point and ending points are on Ellsworth Drive, with rest stops located along the route near Blair High School and the Eastern Carryout.
