On Thurs., Sept. 9 at 7 PM catch The Network of Concerned Anthropologists at 2640, 27th & St. Paul St.  This group wrote THE COUNTER-COUNTERINSURGENCY MANUAL: OR, NOTES ON DEMILITARIZING AMERICAN SOCIETY, after the 2006 release of the US Army's Counterinsurgency Field Manual--a book which made clear that the upper echelons of the American military were deeply interested in finding ways to harness anthropological expertise as a part of their apparatus of strategic control.
