Join us
When: Friday, October 8 at 12pm
Where: Murrow Park, H and 18th Street NW (Across from the World Bank), Washington D.C.
Jubilee USA is mobilizing to demand an end to the World Bank and IMF’s actions, which continue to harm the world’s poorest. Ten years after the historic movement to change the IMF and World Bank we’ve seen some progress – but it’s not enough. We must transform the system!
We Demand:
- Transparency and Accountability in World Bank and IMF lending practices
- An end to harmful conditionalities on new loans and debt relief that hurt the world's poorest
- An end to World Bank funding projects that cause environmental degradation
Our demonstration, Break the Chains! Transform the System! marks the start of the Global Week of Action Against Illegitimate Debt and International Financial Institutions. Please join us and our partners from the Global South. The rally begins at Murrow Park, followed by a march to the White House. We will carry paper chains from around the country and globe, demanding that President Obama break the chains of debt once and for all.
JOIN US at the mobilization. Email Brooke Harper at Brooke@jubileeusa.org
CAN’T ATTEND? If you can’t join us in DC you can make your own chain and we’ll link your voice. Send it to Jubilee USA, 212 East Capitol St NE, Washington D.C. 20003
