The ACLU of the District of ColumbiaPeople Power - Washington, DC, and Organizing for Action invite you to a community engagement event to stand in solidarity with DC's immigrant communities in resistance to the Administration's mass deportation agenda.. 

-- Learn from local immigration advocacy groups including CARECEN-Central American Resource CenterCASA, and The Center for Community Change about what more DC can do to fully protect immigrant communities’ rights and how you can support their work.

-- Learn about the DC government and how to advocate effectively from Monica Hopkins-Maxwell, Executive Director of the ACLU’s DC affiliate.

-- Hear from Ronald Newman, the ACLU’s National Director for Strategic Initiatives about why local action is critical in these times.

-- Hear from Eric Liu, author of You’re More Powerful than You Think, on the importance of grassroots civic engagement and empowerment.
